Beverly Kay Wells' Obituary
In Loving Memory of Beverly Kay Wells
August 8, 1946 – June 6, 2026
With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Beverly Kay Wells, who entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 6, 2026, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Lakewood, Washington. She was 79 years old. Beverly was born on August 8, 1946, in Yakima, Washington, to Myrtle Marie Baurley Schueller and Donald Joseph Schueller. Raised in a large and loving family, she was one of eleven siblings and carried throughout her life a deep appreciation for family, faith, and service. Above all else, Beverly loved Jesus. Her faith was the foundation of her life and the source of her strength, compassion, and unwavering hope. She faithfully attended Lighthouse Christian Center, which she considered her church home. Those who knew her witnessed a woman whose life reflected Christ's love through kindness, generosity, and a servant's heart. She never sought recognition for herself, always placing the needs of others before her own.
Beverly proudly served her country in the Women's Army Corps from 1965 to 1969 as a Dental Laboratory Technician. Her commitment to service continued long after her military years. She earned a Business Degree from Pierce Community College and remained actively involved in organizations dedicated to honoring and supporting America's veterans, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW POST 9079), AMVETS, the Military Order of the Cootie, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Whether serving veterans, supporting friends, encouraging family members, or helping a stranger in need, Beverly lived a life marked by selflessness and compassion. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen, loved, and valued. Her gentle spirit, spunky smile, and generous heart touched countless lives.
Beverly's greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. Her love created a legacy that will continue through the generations she leaves behind. In her final years, Beverly faced kidney disease with remarkable courage and steadfast faith. During a year of dialysis treatments, she continued to demonstrate the resilience, grace, and determination that defined her life. A phrase she often used, Beverly truly was ‘Army Strong’. Though the journey was difficult, she met each challenge with strength, trusting in God's plan and drawing comfort from her faith, family, and friends. Her perseverance served as an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
Though our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice in the assurance of her faith. Beverly knew where she was going when the Lord called her home. We find comfort in knowing that she has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and is now at peace in the presence of her Savior. Beverly is survived by her beloved daughters, Charlotte Hapner (Cliff) and Dawn Wells (Lee); her grandchildren, Rachel Noel (Justin), Chrystal Griffith, Anthony Smith, Alexis Brotherton (Robert) and Faith Wells; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Wyatt, Solara, Christian, Arya and Teagan with one beloved great-granddaughter Sophia Grace on the way; her siblings, Nick Schueller, LeRoy Schueller, Jim Kenny, and Betty Fiscus; and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were blessed by knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle Marie Baurley Schueller and Donald Joseph Schueller, and siblings Tom, Donna, Richard, Larry, Linda and Dale.
Her beautiful legacy of faith, service, love, and devotion to others will live on in all who knew and loved her. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
