Beverly Watts-Thomas' Obituary
Beverly Watts-Thomas “Bev” passed away peacefully on her birthday June 1st, 2023, at the age of 89. Bev was born in Greeley, Colorado, shortly thereafter she and her parents Freda and John Hoffman, along with her brother Herman and sister Dorothy moved to Tacoma Washington. Her younger sister Carolyn arrived 11 years later.
Bev graduated from Lincoln High School and started her working life at Boeing in Seattle. She then met and married her 1st husband Wendell Watts in 1955, settling in Tacoma. Bev was a loving mother to her 3 children Brent, Colleen, and Cindy as well as her grandkids Brooke, Branden, John, Russ, Andrew, and Shannon. She is also a great grandma to Bennie, Ray, Francis, and Olive. Her first husband Wendell passed away in 1982. Several years later, in 1984, she met and married Fred Thomas. Together they enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. The two shared a fondness for the Tacoma Waterfront, enjoying daily visits to their favorite spot.
Bev is survived by her loving husband Fred Thomas and her adored sisters Dorothy Ryan and Carolyn Halford, her 3 children Brent Watts, Colleen Thornburg, and Cindy Lutz as well as her stepchildren Lori, Greg, and Larry Thomas.
All who knew her will always remember her zest for life, her optimistic spirit, and her witty and fun-loving personality. She will be missed by all who know and love her.
