Beverly A. Spry's Obituary
Beverly Ann Spry passed peacefully October 8, 2018, surrounded by her family. Beverly was born in Tacoma General Hospital on January 18, 1930 to parents Erling and Alice Sanders. She lived in Tacoma her whole life. A graduate of Lincoln High School, she worked as a secretary there and at the Spellman Insurance Agency until marrying Lowell Spry and starting a family. She had a full-time job as a mom when her child Chuck was born, followed by Cynthia and Cheryl. The three C’s were always eager to get home from school, because they knew Mom had some homemade goodies waiting for them. We will forever miss her.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She was known in our extended family for her baking, particularly her pies. Dad was always proud to have her put together plates of Christmas cookies or homemade bread for his particular friends at work. And from our first dog, she was never without one. She was sweet and kind to all. The last time her eyes opened, she used that moment to give a big smile to those around her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lowell Spry, and sister Shirley McKechnie. Bev is survived by her children Chuck (Melani), Cynthia Meeks (Don), and Cheryl Spry, grandchildren Haley O’Haleck, Timothy Spry, Carson O’Haleck, Jason DiGuilio, and Jennifer Bates and 6 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the many fine caregivers at Laurel House, Multicare Hospice and Visiting Angels caregivers Rose and Georgetta.
We are celebrating Beverly’s wonderful life on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Garden Chapel, at 1:00 p.m. followed by graveside service and reception.
