Beverly R. Minnis' Obituary
Beverly Minnis Beverly Minnis was born to Josephine Richmond and Herbert Minnis on September 14, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA, and was one of four siblings. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, daughter Beverlee, sister Martha Larkins, and brother Joseph. Beverly joined the Air Force and came to McChord Air Force Base in 1951. He was a gourmet chef who catered parties and managed the officers' club at McChord. He had a change in his career and joined the flight crew and General McGhee and General Haig, traveling from Washington, Oregon, Japan, and to Colorado to NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. He was also a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Tacoma. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara, daughter Beverly of Federal Way, son Bryon (Leanne) of Tacoma, seven grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and his sister Mary (Otto) Clark of Uniontown, PA. The family would like to acknowledge the Group Health Association, Home Hospice Care and affiliated groups for their excellent care of Beverly. Viewing will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Mountain View Funeral Home from 1pm until 7pm. Memorial services will be held at 11am Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 4818 Portland Ave. E, Tacoma, WA.
