She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Terry Lystad, granddaughter, Danielle Pickett, brother, LaVoy Cotterell, and her parents Cecil and June Cotterell.
She is loved and will be missed by all that knew her as a generous and caring person, whose life was spent doing for others. She met Arthur in the early 1940’s. Prior to their beginning to date, Arthur was good friends with her brother LaVoy. They married on October 10th1952 in Moscow, Idaho and were sealed later in the Cardston Alberta Temple. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and doing things for her family. She loved to sing La La (Brahms Lullaby) to her grandchildren something seems so small, but to a child, it was huge. She loved traveling with her husband and visiting family but loved to move on to her next destination. She was a skilled seamstress and excellent cook. She enjoyed playing the piano. She was a temple worker in the Seattle Temple for over 18 years. Served an 18 Month Employment Mission with her husband. She was a telephone switchboard operator and used to speak with individuals stationed away from home but didn’t like wearing the headphones. She worked at Safeway in Bonners Ferry then became a stay at home mom when the family relocated to Spokane Washington. The remainder of her life was spent taking care of her family which she did and weathered each challenge beautifully.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Lincoln Ward in Tacoma. Her services will be held December 27th, 2014 at 1 pm in the East Building of the LDS church. (just off of 72nd Street) You can visit with family at the church prior to the service and there will be a family luncheon after the services. The graveside service will be in Bonners Ferry, Idaho at a later date, not yet determined. Please contact family for information.
