Beverly D. Blake's Obituary
Beverly Diane Blake (nee Anderson) passed away peacefully on June 13, 2015 in Tacoma, WA, at the age of 72.
Beverly is survived by her children, Dean Pollock of Tacoma, WA, Jody Schumacher (Gary) of Vallejo, CA, and Paul Blake (Buffi), of Olympia, WA. She had 5 grandchildren; Amanda Hanifan (Ryan), Savannah Pollock, Marshall Blake, Natalie Blake, Carlie Blake, and 2 great grandchildren; Teagan Hanifan and Aedan Hanifan.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Muriel Anderson of Tacoma, WA, her son Steven Pollock, of Tacoma, WA, son, John Pollock III, of Tacoma, WA, and her grandsons Steven and John Blake, of Olympia, WA.
Beverly was born on September 23, 1942 in Bremerton, WA to Ray and Muriel Anderson. She graduated Lincoln High School in 1960. Beverly gave 24 years of service to Boeing, where she was a Lead Machinist.
Beverly was a very talented seamstress and quilt maker. She quilted, embroidered, and enjoyed donating her creations to various organizations who were able to spread her love to much of Tacoma. Beverly created several thousand unique Christmas stockings for Boeing, who used them to provide Christmas cheer to thousands of disadvantaged youth. Her love for the art of sewing and sewing for charity was nurtured and passed along to subsequent generations.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, at 7:30 PM at Fergie's on the Ave, McKinley Ave E, Tacoma, WA 98404. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Beverly's life.
