Aunt Beulah was definitely one of a kind (the best kind)! She was always good for a laugh. Some of my favorite memories of Aunt Beulah are:
She made the best raspberry jam I ever ate.
Her annual trips to MO included going with my dad (Jack) to hunt for poke greens so we could have a big mess of "poke-n-beans".
Her "It's the chef's day off" rule on Sunday. If you wanted to eat, you better hunt something up yourself because you were on your own - guest or not!
The annual MO trip usually included a "project" that she would start and would end up getting everyone involved in a lot of work to get it finished. Like wallpapering Gramma's kitchen (that was fun) or "let's paint the shed" (NO, that was one of UNCLE CAL'S little projects - ha!)
And one of my favorites was to watch her razzing poor ole' Aunt Dot about any and everything and getting her so mad steam would almost come out of her ears and Aunt Beulah would have to go out to "smoke" because she was laughing so hard.
Mostly her love of her kids, grandkids (and greats), her mother, siblings and other family and friends. She will truly be missed by all of us. Just know that we are thinking and praying for you all at this difficult time. We love you guys! Marsha and Aunt Mabel##imported-begin##Marsha Peck (Hicks)##imported-end##
