Betty and I became friends in 2018 when my husband and I sold our North Tacoma home to The Whites. Our realtor told us, “Normally, I do not recommend that my sellers meet the buyers, but in this case, I think it would be fine for you to do a walk thru with them. They are wonderful people.” He was right. Eventually, we became fast friends, of course, because Betty could make friends with a stranger in minutes. We had our first solo “date” when she invited me to walk with her to The Blue Octopus champagne bar. If there were two things that she loved to do more than walking and sipping a cold glass of bubbly, I don’t know what they were! We were simpatico:) We spent hours walking miles during the pandemic, together, 6 feet apart. If I could spend one more day with Betty, I would wish to do the same thing we did on our first date….walk, talk, drink some champagne…
Sante’ my dear friend. Your moments of brilliance will not be forgotten.
Deepest condolences to her husband, Dave, her beloved daughters and grandchildren, and the multitudes of people that loved Betty White. Weren’t we so lucky? ♥️
