Betty Jean Thomas' Obituary
Betty Jean Thomas was born May 27th, 1939 in Dillon, South Carolina. She was the first of nine children born to Beulah Gaddy and Herbert Huggins. As a girl, she attended Dillon High School and began her career as a restaurant owner and manager after graduation. Throughout her life she lived in Spanaway and Montesano Washington, as well as Idaho, and Milden Hall, England. After her retirement in 1999, she was involved with various other jobs and enjoyed floral and interior decorating, travel, and antique shopping. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester Thomas in 1993, and married John Bohannen July 20th, 1996. Betty was a baptized Christian and had a strong love for family, especially her children and grandchildren, whose births were among the most important events of her life. She was a loving, giving, beautiful, and strong-willed woman. Betty loved country western music, gospel, and especially Quinten Mills. She is preceded in death by her brother Mace Jr. Gaddy, sisters Mary Kate Johnson and Mae Sanders, and brothers Donald and Larry Huggins. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her son Jeff Thomas of Montesano WA, sisters Thelma McCoy of Sellersburg IN, Joyce DelRossa of Penn Yann NY, and Vivian Timm of Woodland TX. She is loved and will be remembered also by her grandchildren Richelle “Shelly” Cain (Anthony) of Longview WA, Grandson Jason Thomas of Elma WA, and great granddaughters Raychele Dougherty, Trinity Buskeness, Cheyenne Cain, and Isabella Cain and special friends Greg Swales, Ken Gough, and Jane Martin.
