Betty L. Nordlund's Obituary
Betty Bennett Nordlund died on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
Betty was born in Tacoma on Jan 12, 1942 to James and Christine (Fetzer) Bennett. She lived her whole life in Tacoma, graduating from Wilson High School in 1961.
In 1962, Betty married Steven Nordlund and for the next sixty years, she was dedicated to raising a family and creating a beautiful home in Tacoma’s North End.
During her working years, she was a familiar face to the patients of local endodontist Roy Kaldestad, for whom she worked for many years.
In retirement, she was an active gardener and voracious reader. On sunny days, she enjoyed spending time outdoors nurturing her plants and reading e-books.
Betty loved spoiling her pets! They always had a cat or dog - sometimes both! Most recently Bently, a Shih Tzu, was her pampered puppy.
Betty is survived by those she loved dearly, her husband Steven, sons Troy and Christopher (Maria), grandson, Hunter, sister Patricia (Gary) Kingsley and brother Bob (Kathleen) Bennett and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services for family and friends will take place at Mountain View Memorial Park in the Garden Chapel 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW Lakewood WA 98499. www.mountainviewtacoma.com on Friday October 27th at 3PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to First Baptist Church of Lakewood, 5400 112th St SW Lakewood WA 98499 www.fbclakewood.org
