Celebrating the Gentle Compassion of Betty Martin
August 16, 1932 – February 15, 2025
"There's no S on ALL"
With hearts touched by her gentle compassion, we remember Betty Martin, a kind and loving mother and friend to all she met. Born on August 16, 1932, in High Rolls, New Mexico, USA, Betty filled her days with kindness that left lasting impressions on everyone she encountered.
Betty's life was a tapestry of simple joys and generous gestures. Her kind and supportive nature was a comfort to family and friends alike. An avid reader, she found delight in the pages of books and shared that passion with those around her. Her creative spirit shone through in her sewing and quilting, and she lovingly contributed her talents to volunteer sewing projects that warmed many hearts.
She embraced the beauty of the outdoors, relishing moments spent camping, boating, and exploring nature. Traveling by motorhome with dear friends brought her immense joy, as did playing games that filled her home with laughter. Betty cherished large family dinners, nurturing a close-knit family bound by love and shared memories.
An integral part of the Steilacoom Community Church, Betty's generous and organized spirit was a blessing to her community. Her gentle compassion and kind gestures have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
Betty is lovingly remembered by her children: Calvin Young, Dwayne Young, Deborah Young, and her step-children: Karen Gordon, Gale Lagace, and Bill Martin. Each carries forward the legacy of her love and the warmth she so freely gave.
On February 15, 2025, Betty passed away peacefully of natural causes in Tacoma, Washington, USA surrounded by family. While we grieve her loss, we find comfort in the memories of her gentle spirit and the kindness she shared with all.
In honoring Betty's memory, may we each extend kindness and gentle compassion to those around us, just as she did throughout her cherished life.
Betty will be laid to rest at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, Washington.
