Betty Jean Barnes' Obituary
Betty Jean Barnes, 69, of Lacey, Washington passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 surrounded by family, after her battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late David and Helen Wetherell. Also from Lacey Washington.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, David Barnes; three daughters, Michelle Williams, husband Joe, Christine Anderson, husband Chris and Penny Black; three step-children Carrie Rudolph, husband Terry, Mark Barnes and Paul Barnes; a sister Marie Carter, a brother David Wetherell; 14 grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren.
Betty retired in 2015 from the North Thurston School district where she worked for 30+ years as a Paraeducator for children with special needs. Because of her love of the kids, she continued to substitute almost everyday after retirement.
Betty will be laid to rest at Mountain View Memorial Park on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.
In honor of Betty’s 40+ years of league bowling, the family will be hosting a “Celebration of Life” at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Paradise lanes in Parkland, Washington.
