Betty Ann Leffler's Obituary
Betty Ann Leffler, 83, died November 19, 2005 in Longview, WA. Born October 8, 1922 to Edward and Anna Halverson of Aberdeen, she grew up in Hoquiam and Aberdeen, graduating from Weatherwax High School. Became an X-ray Technician and worked in Tacoma. While taking dancing lessons she met Colorado native, Kenneth Leffler, and married in 1957. Raised their family in a home that Kenneth built in Puyallup.Betty enjoyed being a wife, mother and homemaker. Active in her church (First Christian Church, Puyallup) through Christian WomenÂ's Fellowship (CWF) on the National and Regional level, the Golden Wedding Committee, as the Financial Secretary for the church for many years and shared teaching Sunday School teaching responsibilities. She loved to read, quilt, knit and needlepoint. Many of her days were filled with delivering meals and visiting the aged. She absolutely loved ice cream, any flavor. Betty and Ken enjoyed cruises and traveling in their motor home across the country. She was a member of the Amaranth Lodge. Betty deeply loved her family.Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Kenneth R., and daughter Barbara Ann Leffler.She is survived by son John (Ruth) of Castle Rock, WA, granddaughter Amanda Leffler and Kaelynn Sant, brothers George Halverson of Montesano, WA and David Halverson of Bellevue, WA; sister Molly Johnson of Aberdeen, WA, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces and friends.Interment is at Mountain View Memorial Park in Tacoma, WA. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Castle Rock Christian Church, 542 Huntington Ave. S, Castle Rock, WA.Memorial contributions may be made to the Castle Rock Christian Church.
