Bette Joan LaBrie's Obituary
In Loving Memory Bette J. LaBrie Bette Joan LaBrie, 88, fondly remembered as "long ball Bette", passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Bette was born in Ringling, Montana to Stephen and Sadie Boyce. She earned her nursing degree from Montana State and soon after was deployed into the eighth Army 5th Air Corps in Japan during World War II. Bette served as a nurse for 50 years for her country and community. As one of the 50 original members of Oakbrook Golf and Country Club, she loved to play golf, and win, with the ladies on Thursdays. That's where she earned her nickname for the longest drive. Bette is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wally, brothers Robert and Gordon Boyce, sons and their wives, Howard & Dana, David &EHelen, Myron & Carol along with her grandchildren, Jeana & Karly LaBrie and Ryan & Adam (Jen) Lang. She will be remembered by family and friends by the twinkle in her eye and her warm chuckle. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 18th at Oakbrook Golf & Country Club from 1:30 - 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or charity of your choice. Rest in Peace, Mom.
