Bertha J McMackins' Obituary
BERTHA JEAN SCHOONOVER MAACK
(BERTI)
Our precious mom left us on September 10, 2013 to be our guardian angel; she passed away with family by her side. Berti was born May 24, 1938.
Berti left behind a legacy of children and is survived by her two daughters Tina (Roy) Cheyne, Jeannine (Joe) Laky, nine sons Gary, Michael (Marisa) Maack, Terry (Melissa) Schoonover, Loren (Sandra), Chuck (Royanne), Donnie (Becky), Rusty (Verna), Kevin (Kathy), and Jerry (Jan) Mackie, brothers Butch (Nancy) and Joe Schoonover and sister Sherry Green. She also left behind several beautiful grandchildren, great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
Berti was such a amazingly strong woman, who’s life was filled with many ups and downs, yet through it all she managed to have a warm, contagious smile on her face, and people were drawn to her beautiful soul. She loved to spend time at the casino, read and do crosswords. She had an amazing talent to crochet and spend countless hours making hats and doilies for those she loved. This humble woman never realized how special of a lady she was and how we all admired her strength.
She loved her extended family she found at Meridian Hills and formed tremendous bonds with the lives of people she touched. Our mother was loved beyond words and she will be missed greatly. Words cannot describe the heartache we feel but we know she is in heaven and her body is finally at peace. Until we meet again, loved, missed but never forgotten.
