Bertha A. James At age 96, Bertha A. James, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2013 with her daughter Loretta and son-in-law Carl at her side. Bertha was born February 20, 1917 in Cos Read Obituary
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I knew Auntie Bobbie through the Potts family and enjoyed the little time I spent with her.

My parents, Ted and Jean Lynn were friends with Harry and Bertha, as my father worked with Harry at McChord. I didn't see them often but remember them well and know they were dear to my parents. I also had the special experience of spending a weekend with them at the Olympic Mountains cabin when I was maybe 10 or 11. We hiked in and I remember being mesmerized by the camp robber birds who would eat from my plate . I also have a powerful memory of waking up in the morning in my sleeping bag in the rafters to the smell of bacon and coffee. I don't know why only I got to go on the trip but it left a nice and lasting memory. The picture in the paper captures Bertha spirit well and I am grateful for her kindness to me.
