Bertha Caroline King's Obituary
Our loving mom passed away peacefully at Fir Lane Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shelton WA after a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by our father Ferdinand E. Sobota and our stepfather Eddie King.Bertha is survived and will be missed by her sons: Richard L (Patty) Sobota of Port Ludlow, Ferdinand E. (Audrey) Sobota of Gig Harbor, and Robert W. (Kathleen) Sobota of Puyallup, and her daughter Carol L. (Johnny) Newcomer of Jacksonville FL, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and sister Elsie Terra of Sacramento.Through her lifetime she resided in the towns of Lakewood, Fife, Federal Way and Shelton.Mom cherished her family and enjoyed serving her community. She was active in all sorts of activities throughout her life; she served as National President of the ladies auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association 1970-1971. While living in Timberlake in Shelton, she served as President of the Timberlake Community Club from 1978 - 1979 and 1987 - 1988.The family would like to thank the staff at Fir Lane, Mason General Hospital and Dr. John Butler for all the outstanding care they have given our mother. Our family would also like to express our special thanks to Beverly Pede and Janine Burke for all the years of love, dedication and care that our mother received.Please join our family in the celebration of our motherÂ's life. Public viewing will be held between 2pm- 9pm on Tuesday, March 13, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday 15, 2006 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel.In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in the memory of Bertha C. King at Fir Lane Health and Rehabilitation Center 2430 North 13th Street, Shelton, WA 98584.
