Bertena Pearl Robertson's Obituary
I’m going to tell you a story about a wonderful woman named Mother Bertena Pearl Andersen. God let Bertena Pearl Andersen grace us with her presence beginning on August 3rd, 1936 to Russell & Dorothy Andersen in Seattle Washington. Bertena was raised on South Whidbey Island, she went to school on South Whidbey from kindergarten and finished high school there. Bertena was the Oldest of 5 children, in order it was Bertena Pearl, Helen Darlene, Nancy Loise , Arland Russell, and finally Timothy Paul which is deceased. Bertena went to Bates Technical College and graduated as a CNA. Bertena got married to Elder Joe T Robertson on November 18th, 1954, Joe T the love of her life died May 20th 1998. Bertena got baptized in Jesus name first at Revival Center in Seattle, WA, the second time was in San Diego, CA. When Joe got out of the Navy we moved from Whidbey Island to Seattle, WA. We went to Bethel Christian Church. After a few years we moved to Tacoma WA in March of 1963 to Christ Temple at the time now known as Greater Christ Temple Church. Sis Bertena was in the play called Jesus of Nazereth. She was on the Usher Board, and she was also a Sunday school teacher. Mother Bertena & Sis Marie Mae started the terry band. She was a Nurses Aid & Pastors Aid. Mother Bertena worked for Jefferson for over 20 yrs. Mother Bertena had 4 Children, they are as follows Evangeline Faith, Esther Lillian, Benjamin Curtis and Dorcas Jean. She has 3 Grand children they are as follows, Krystalyn Anna, William Joseph and Jessica Rose. Mother Bertena was a survivor of Breast Cancer twice. She was a fighter and well respected, she worked very hard for everything she had. And now shes with her husband and best friend. Mom we’ll miss you but we know we will see you again, we love and cherish you. Now I must go and I will leave you with these words, every story has an end but in life every end is just a new beginning.
