Bernis Reid's Obituary
Bernis Luella Reid, age 96, a resident of Tacoma Lutheran Home, passed away May 12, 2009. Born on May 6, 1913 in Kelso, Wa. In her younger years, she worked as an elevator operator at the Weyerhauser Building and as a knitting instructor at Rhodes Dept. store. She was a member of Fern Chapter #7 Order of Eastern Star, where she continually held offices during her lifetime. Preceding her in death were husbands John Jorgenson and Bill Reid (retired Navy) and survivor of Pearl Harbor; also daughters Maida Farning (Harold) and Barbara Rolf. Survivors include son-in-law Orville Rolf (Jacki), grandchildren Michael Rolf (Carol), Puyallup, Wa., Leslie DeRocher (Tom), Lynnwood, Wa., Gary Rolf (Erika), Eagle River, Ak, Kevin Rolf, Shelton, Wa., Tracy Seward (Sam), Vancouver, Wa., Brian Rolf (Andrea), Redmond, WA., and 8 great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 22 at 1 p.m. in the Garden Chapel, Mountain View Funeral Home. A special thanks to the staff at Tacoma Lutheran Home for the loving care she received there.
