Bernie Richard Briggs' Obituary
Bernie R. Briggs, 89 a longtime Tacoma resident died at home Monday, July 7, 2008. Born Sept 19, 1918, Jamestown, N.Dak. He served in the Merchant Marines in South Pacific during WW II. He was a member of the Puyallup Eagles and the American Legion. He was retired from GSA. He loved to go dancing, when he was able, trips to Reno or the Emerald Queen and his tropical fish. He was preceded in death in 1993 by Betty E. Briggs, wife of 54 years. Survivors include his daughters: Vicki (Darrell) Wohlmacher and Donna Ruddy. Grandchildren: Renee (Paul) Ross, Crystal (Chester) Grays, Todd Cobo, Jeff Regal, Kelly (James) Lopez, Jessica (Chris)Thal, Chad Regal and Matthew Ruddy and 15 great- grandchildren, also surviving his companion of 14 years Maxine McCown. Services will be held at 11 am, July 11th at Mt View Garden Chapel. Viewing available Thurs. July 10th 11-9 PM.
