Bernice Junis Bowers
Bernice J. Bowers died peacefully Oct. 24, 2011 at her home in Tacoma, WA. She was born and raised in Potter, NE before moving to Tacoma, where she earned her teaching certificate at PLU. She taught in the Tacoma School District until her retirement. Bernice married Arthur Bowers in 1957, and they enjoyed 54 wonderful years together. She loved gardening and travel, and her cooking was enjoyed by all. She is survived by her husband (Arthur), many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Memorial services will be held on Sat., Oct 29th, 2011 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499, 3:00 p.m. Donations can be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Memorial Fund/ELCA World Hunger, 6730 N. 17th St. Tacoma, 98406.
