Bernard Everard Blake's Obituary
Bernard E. Blake 97, a longtime Tacoma resident, passed away after a short illness, on December 7, 2008. He was born in Northallerton, England, served with Royal Air Force during World War II stationed in Shanghai, China and taken prisoner by the Japanese remaining so for about four years. After the war Bernard came to Canada, then the United States becoming a citizen, and working as a Stereotypist for the Tacoma News Tribune, for about 36+ years. Bernard was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and traveling during his retired years. Bernard is predeceased by his parents, sister and his wife and traveling companion Helen Blake. He will be missed by special friends Betty Repp, Susan Repp, Merle and Lulla Scaff, Evelyn Clifford, Polly Maclean, and Jody Lynn Pilarski. Memorial services 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2008 in the Mt. View Garden Chapel. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.
