Benjamin V. Dobratz's Obituary
Benjamin Victor Dobratz was born January 12, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI and died peacefully on May 16, 2006 at his home in Lakewood, WA.He served in Korea with the 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division and was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation. After completing his military service, Ben followed a professional career as an accountant. He was the Chief Accountant for the Western Division of Glidden Paint in San Francisco, and he was in charge of plant finances for Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA. Throughout his entire life in Wisconsin, California, and Washington, Ben embodied loyalty, integrity, and a keen sense of humor.Ben is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years Marjorie, step-sons John, Thomas and James Clowry, and step daughter Dr. Margaret Clowry-Van Brederode and husband Hans. He is survived by six step-grandchildren: Jacob, Sean, Gwen, and Erin Clowry and Maarten and Willem Van Brederode. Ben is survived by his mother Charlotte Lacey, and brothers Tom and Patrick Lacey all of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Olsen.A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM, on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center, with a reception to follow in the Willow Room.
