I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting and communing with Ben through Horace Tyler Masonic Lodge in the last few years of his life. I visited with him at St Claire when he was there recently and he was very conversant in spite of his admitted pain. My fond memory of Ben was that he ALWAYS stood (in spite of having to struggle with great difficulty to stand) whenever the American flag was presented or retired in lodge. Ben was a great American and a great Mason. His entire lodge sends condolences to the family and will miss him greatly.
