Beatriz Reyes' Obituary
Beatriz “Betty” B. Reyes, 92, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2019, at home surrounded by her family in Federal Way, WA. She was born in Manila, Philippines on September 20, 1926, daughter of Emiliano and Rosario Bolaños.
Betty was a devoted military wife who dedicated her life to her U.S. Navy Veteran husband and family, giving up her own career to stay home and care for her children. Her family always came first. It is natural that she is their matriarch, being the glue that keeps everyone together. Betty had a strong Catholic faith and was an active member of St. Theresa’s Parish Church in Federal Way. She was well-loved by many. Her positive light, smile and energy touched so many lives because of her kindness, sweetness, and love towards everyone. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and watching her favorite television shows, EWTN Catholic Channel and TFC Filipino soap operas.
Betty is survived by her children, Maria “Socky” (Michael) Tartaglia, Andrew (Terem) Reyes, and Judy (John) Reyes; grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica)Tartaglia, Stephen Tartaglia, LeAnna Tartaglia, Matthew Reyes, Bea Marin, and Jillian Reyes; and brother Jose Bolaños. In addition to her parents, Betty is predeceased by her beloved husband of over 48 years, Nick Reyes; brother, Jesus Bolaños; and sister, Dolores Lajom.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood. Her funeral will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View, where a reception will follow.
