Beatrice Y Smith's Obituary
Beatrice Y Smith, 100 years and 8 months, born February 28, 1915 in Douglas, WA, passed from this life on September 17, 2015 in Tacoma, WA. She wed Charles Smith in June, 1948. Shortly after, they bought Lakewood Cleaners which they successfully ran for over 38 years side by side, taking care of many Fort Lewis boys and forming many friendships. Charles preceded her in death in July 1998 as well as their two year old son. Also preceding her in death, besides her parents, is one sister and two brothers. Survivors include two sisters, Marie Ross of Chehalis and Betty Anderson (Orvel) of Shelton, plus numerous nieces and nephews, and a very trusted friend, Maurice Laufer. She was a generous friend and loved animals. The family wishes to acknowledge House of Hope Adult Family Home and to thank Nadia and Alex for the wonderful care they provided for Beatrice. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015, 11:30 AM at Mountain View Memorial Park.
