Baxter Lewis Hennessy's Obituary
Baxter Lewis Hennessy was born October 14th, 2000 in Springfield, Oregon. He lived in Eugene, OR until age 5, and Ashland, OR until age 9, before moving to University Place, WA, and then Puyallup, WA.
Growing up, Baxter was involved in countless activities including boy scouts, camping, swimming, soccer, basketball, baseball, wrestling, boxing, football and martial arts. He loved playing outside with friends, biking, building legos, nerf games and reading.
As Baxter entered Kalles Junior High in the Page program, his love of all things technical began, and flourished. To say he loved building computers, and computer engineering is an understatement. Baxter took pride in his work on computers, including his family’s home for a better internet connection. He was a subject matter expert concerning technology. Baxter very much enjoyed playing video games with his friends, which brought him joy and fellowship. He attended church at Lighthouse Christian Center and was active in their Junior High Youth Group.
His activities included Little League baseball, flag football, wrestling, and enjoyed being involved in the Drama Club. He was Stage Manager for the Little Mermaid Play in 2015. Baxter was Treasurer for the 9th Grade Project Committee, and Yearbook Staff for the 2015-2016 school year. He also began working as a math tutor, was the video editor for several school projects, and spent a week as a Washington State House of Representatives Page.
In high school, Baxter wanted to be as independent as he could be. Baxter was motivated to get his driver’s license and did so without hesitation. He began looking for a job as soon as he was of age. Baxter interviewed and was hired for a job he wanted. He always worked very hard. As soon as he could, he bought his 2000, Toyota, Celica. Baxter was very proud of his car and took extremely good care of it. Almost immediately he began upgrading the tires, rims, and sound system.
Officially, he was a senior at Emerald Ridge High School, but he had been attending classes with the Running Start program at Pierce college since his Junior year. He was on track to receive his Associate in Math Education at the same time as his High School diploma. He had plans to become a math professor, but that wasn’t set in stone. He was still planning his future, and constantly thinking of new plans and goals.
Baxter had a love of travel, culture and photography. He was a past member of the Air Academy and Aviation Club. He also worked as a video editor for a YouTube News Channel. He was very interested in politics, current events, and civil rights issues. He recently attended the Politicon Conference in Los Angeles with Mom and Dad.
Most importantly Baxter was a blessing to his family and loved dearly. Our memory of him will last forever. Baxter accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized at Lighthouse Christian Center. Baxter has been described by his friends as loving, caring, supportive, genuine and brilliant. He will always be treasured in our hearts.
Baxter will be forever missed by his father and mother, Jon and Shannon Hennessy, siblings Ronan, Keenan and Emerson; Grandparents, Steve and Karen Lewis, Richard, Margaret Hennessy and Judith Szymanski, his Uncles Andrew Lewis and Richard Hennessy, as well as his cherished friends, and extended family.
