Barry Richard Walter's Obituary
Barry Walter unexpectedly passed away in the early morning of April, 21, 2018 at his home in Lakewood. He was born to the Dick and Grace Walter in Odessa, WA on February 21, 1947.
Barry was fortunate to grow up in the rolling hills of the Palouse, where he had free rein to run wild and unfettered. He attended grades 1 through 11 in Hooper, WA and Lacrosse, WA, graduating from Moscow High School in Moscow, ID in 1965. As an adult, his free time was spent hunting, fishing and tending the garden he loved. He served 21 years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1992.
Barry enjoyed his long-time association with the VFW, serving as Past Commander for VFW Post 2329, and Past District 3 Adjutant.
Barry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Floy Baker Walter, his sister Sheila Walter (Bob McNulty) or Kenmore, WA, his children Richard John Beck of Great Falls, MT, Angel Christman (Matthew) of Sherwood, OR, April Mangiantini (John) of Pullman, WA, his stepchildren Donald Roberts, Debbie Carpenter and Christine (Chuck) Lindstrom, his brother-in-law Charles Baker, all of Lakewood, WA, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
