Barry Taylor Bellandi's Obituary
Barry Taylor Bellandi, 79, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on April 9th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on January 10th, 1947, Barry dedicated nearly 40 years to his career serving as an auditor for the State of Washington. He approached his work with steady commitment and integrity, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and quiet dedication.
Outside of his career, Barry was a man of deep curiosity and many passions. He had a lifelong love of music, electronics, and sound, and was truly a DJ at heart. He found joy in creating moments that brought people together, whether through music, conversation, or shared laughter.
Barry especially enjoyed time on the water- boating, fishing, and crabbing-as well as learning and sharing in the history of Tacoma, the city he proudly called home. He appreciated life's simplest comforts and routines, often embracing them in his own unique way.
At home and at family gatherings, Barry was known for his unmistakable presence-often seen in his robe, cigar nearby, and Windex close at hand. He would raise a glass with a heartfelt "Salud", a ritual that reflected both his humor and his warmth and became a cherished memory for those who knew him best.
He will be remembered as quirky, stubborn, witty, and quick with a dry sense of humor. Beneath that was a deeply loyal, loving, and caring man who found his greatest joy in seeing happiness in others.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Bellandi; his devoted daughter, Heidi, who was a constant source of love and support throughout his life; his daughters Sarah and Jennifer, and his wife's children Jill and Mark, whom he loved as his own. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren.
Barry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to his wife, Carolyn.
