Barbara Mae Weed was born July 16, 1953 in Holmes County, Mississippi, to Lorenzo Thurmond and Mary Rimpson, who preceded her in death.
Barbara was fun loving and enjoyed traveling. She loved family and family loved her. To know her was to love her. She was held so dear to friends and family that she had many love names. She was fondly called Bobbie, Barbie, Bobcat, Barb, Bob, Me-Me, Weed, Little Spicy lady, Te-Te, and Grandma. Barbara answered to all of these love names with the most beautiful smile.
The most important thing to know about Barbara is she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She also was a dedicated mom and grandmother. God called Barbara to rest on December 28, 2021. She was preceded in death by 10 siblings, Floyd Thurmond, Lorene Washington, James R. Thurmond, J.D. Richmond, Lorenzo Thurmond, Lenora Thurmond, Rebecca Johnson, Lestine Williams, Walter L. Rimpson, and Dessie Lee Thurmond.
Memories of her life will be cherished by one daughter, Trisha (Phil) Eargle, three grandchildren, David (Tonie), Philandra, and Tristin Eargle, two greatgrandchildren, Kyrinn Eargle, and a baby on the way from David and Tonie Eargle. Her memories will also be cherished by 6 siblings, Essie (Jimmy) Huggins, Booker T (Nellie) Thurmond, Doretha Lowery, Doris Davis, Shirley (Jim) Kearney, Josie Walker.
Barbara also will be remembered by Justin Collins (parents, Jay and Kim), who was truly another one of her grandsons, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
