October 11, 1921 Omaha, Nebraska - October 2, 2021 Tacoma, Washington.
Barbara died peacefully at her home in the loving care of her grandson, Brian Douvis, just nine days short of her 100th birthday. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Shipman and her eldest son
Douglas Allen Shipman. She is survived by her 2 sons, Steven (Carole) and Greg (Alice), 8 grandchildren, Christine, Brian, Kim, Brad, Jonathan, Hana, Lani and Marina, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Barbara was a devoted Christian she loved the fellowship of her church family at Lincoln Park Christian as well as McKinley Park Christian, where she was the church secretary. Later in Life she was employed at Weyerhaeuser where she worked until her retirement. After retirement, she enjoyed belonging to a sewing group and working on her various craft projects. Barbara enjoyed her 99 years of family, church and friends.
