Barbara Maria Quarless' Obituary
Born in Würzburg Germany, the daughter of retired U.S. soldier Pete and Elfriede Hardy, she is the oldest of their four children Mandel, Tristan, and Bruce. She lived the majority of her life as a Tacoma resident following short residency in Kansas and California.
Barbara’s education began in Tacoma Catholic schools, before graduating from Lincoln High School in 1972. She began her 36-year career in sales as a representative for the Bon Marche, which developed into furniture sales at Macy’s. While staying at the British Colonial Hotel in Nassau, Bahamas, Barbara met Robert Quarless. Bonded by a shared love for music, the pair were married at the Superior Court of Pierce County in 1987.
During their twenty-nine years of marriage, they welcomed four sons: Obejsanjo, Danjuma, Benjameen, and Naji. Barbara worked selflessly to support her family as her sons were her pride and joy. Beyond the love for her children, Barbara’s greatest passions were music and cooking.
