Barbara F. Montgomery's Obituary
Barbara Frances Montgomery, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on May 25, 2024. She was born to Millie Campbell and Percy Lee Campbell on July 9, 1940, in Decatur, AL. Barbara's love story began in childhood when she met William Howard “W.H” Montgomery. They were married in 1959, and together, they built a life filled with love and joy, raising two wonderful children. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Barbara embraced Christianity at a young age and remained dedicated to her faith and an active church member throughout her life. In 1958, she graduated from Lakeside High School and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Barbara brought joy to family and friends. Her concern for those she loved was boundless. She loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church and reciting scripture and her favorite poems. She also enjoyed sports, music, and sharing her wisdom and experiences with others. She was an exceptional individual who will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willie Howard “W.H.” Montgomery, her brothers Charles Campbell, Percy Lee Campbell Jr., and Willie James Campbell, and a brother-in-law.
Barbara's memory is a beacon of love and warmth for her family. She leaves behind a son, William Keith Montgomery (Diane), a daughter, Barbara Monique Nahouraii, and a grandson, Kahlil Montgomery. Her sisters, Lillie Torrance (Cleveland, OH), Annie Ford (Decatur, AL), Sheila Wheeler (Nashville, TN), Debbie Wheeler (Nashville, TN), and Bennetta Fuller, and her brother, Johnny Campbell (Decatur, AL), will forever hold her in their hearts. Her absence is also deeply felt by a host of other in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
