Barbara Ann Johnston's Obituary
Barbara Ann Johnson, age 67 of Tacoma, Washington passed away on June 1, 2017. She was born December 10, 1949 to parents Clarence and Susannah Halliday. She was the second of two children and attended Stewart Middle School and Lincoln High School. After graduation, Barbara became a full time mother and later worked as a playground supervisor/crossing guard at Manitou Park Elementary, for over 20 years. Barbara married Robert Johnston on March 9, 1972, he predeceased her in 2003.
Barbara enjoyed crocheting, painting ceramics, shopping and music, her favorites were The Beach Boys and The Beatles. She cherished the time she traveled to England and a most important event in her life, being the birth of her grandchildren. Barbara will be remembered as a giving, encouraging, reliable, understanding and spirited woman.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Hamilton and sons Michael (Tammy Berthiaume) Johnston and Ronald (Kim) Johnston; grandchildren Destinee (Jonathan) Super, Brittanee Rhodes, Zack (Nadia) Berthiaume, Dakota Hilde, Makayla, William, Amelia and Robert Johnston; great-grandchildren Roxanne Hilde, Nala Berthiaume and Conan Davis. She will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Barbara is being held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in the Garden Chapel. Inurnment to immediately follow at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
