Barbara A. Mason's Obituary
Barbara Ann (Weatherall) Mason
Barbara Ann (Weatherall) Mason, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home on June 12, 2012, at the age of 74.
She was born the daughter of Wilbert (Bill) and Edella Weatherall in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 18, 1938.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Richard Lee Mason; sister, Judy Steigerwald (husband, Jerry; children, Steve Biron and Lynn Garwood) of Chicago, IL; children, Debbie Monnett (Ted), Sherrie Orse (Pat), Jim Stafford (Cindy), and Mark Mason (Colleen); grandchildren, Christina (Mike), Stephanie, Amanda (Ryan), Nicole, Eric, Taylor, Collin; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Rylan and Avery.
Barbara moved to Tacoma during high school when her father was working for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. She attended Lincoln High School (1956). She married her high school sweetheart, Ivan Raymond Stafford, in 1957. Ivan lost his life in a car accident in July 1963.
She married Rick in 1965 and raised their family of four kids in University Place, Washington. Barbara worked for Weyerhaeuser for 29 years as an executive assistant before she retired in 2001. Her smile was infectious and will greatly be missed by all. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her yearly trips to Palm Springs, gardening, boating (TOA Member), bowling, playing golf and a good slot machine.
We love you and will miss you dearly!
