Avis Violet Jennison's Obituary
AVIS JENNISON
Nov. 16, 1927 - March 18, 2009
Avis (Antilla) Jennison was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN., and in 1943 at age 15 she moved with her family to Tacoma. Avis was a beautiful, gifted young woman, loved by many. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She attended Bethel Assembly, and was employed at Fishers and Rhodes Dept. Stores. She met John Jennison in Mt. Vernon and they married in Pasadena, CA., in 1947. John was an accomplished musician. Their only child Bruce Allen was born in 1951 in Eugene, Oregon. He was Avis' greatest joy. They then lived in Tacoma for several years before moving to California where Avis and John lived for many years. After John passed away in 1995, Avis returned to Tacoma. She was not well, and the family would like to thank her caregivers she had over the years. Now she is in Heaven with her Lord and Savior and loved ones who have gone before. Avis was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, Emil & Marie Antilla (Magnuson), and three brothers: Allen, Burtis, and Raymond. She is survived by her son Bruce, grandson Shawn (Jodi), granddaughter Jamie, and two great grandsons, Austin and Riley. Also her brother, Don Antilla, sister Lois Putnam, and many nieces and nephews. A service will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 4 p.m. at Mt. View Funeral home in the Garden Chapel. Internment will follow.
