Audree R. Rush's Obituary
Audree Rush Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Audree Rush of Tacoma, WA, born on November 17, 1931, passed away quietly at home in her sleep on July 11, 2011. Preceded in death by her parents Osmund and Asta Hoivik (Oden), she leaves behind her brothers George Hoivik (Lavonne), Walter Oden (Norma), and her children Christine Wilson (Richard), Gregg Rush, Jeff Rush, Jessica Pascual (Mark), Matthew Rush (Nicole), along with her grandchildren Robert Rush, Matthew Douglass (Catherine), Heather Rush, Kenny Smithling, Clint Boyd, and Ryan Boyd (Becky). She also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren. She married Orey Rush in 1954. Audree was always proud of her Norwegian heritage. She enjoyed the busy life of a housewife and raising a family. Among her many accomplishments Audree became Mrs. Washington in 1966, was a Boy Scout Leader, Garden Club member, an active member of the Junior Federation of Women's Clubs, was a Daughter of Norway, and active Daffodilian. Audree accomplished all this before obtaining her Master's in Art and Teaching. She worked many years for the University of Puget Sound. Among her many gifts and loves were pottery rosemaling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Audree was beautiful both inside and out and a true Norwegian who could often be found at The Beach Cabin swimming in the cool water of the Puget Sound. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. A memorial service will be held at the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center, Aspen Chapel, on July 28th, 2011 at 2:00 in the afternoon. A reception will follow.
