Athena Cologerou McCutchan
Athena was born to Greek immigrant parents Mary(Zvaherania) Cologerou and Athanasis Kalogeros
on February 11, 1922.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings John Cologerou Sr. Keke Bishop, Katina Komp
and Steven Cologerou.
Mom attended schools on the east side of Tacoma, She graduated from Lincoln High School at age sixteen.
She married Richard McCutchan in 1942. They were married for fifty years.She was a mother, homemaker and part-time
bookkeeper for the family business.
Mom was an incredible mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She gave her family unconditional love. She will
be dearly missed by her family and those who knew her.
She was an accomplished cook and baker. Everyone enjoyed coming to dinner when Mom invited them.
Athena is survived by a son, Robert McCutchan, a granddaughter Kayla McCutchan-Morris, son-in-law, RBMorris III
and a great grandson Mitchell and a daughter Marian Palas.
In her later years Athena was blessed by the loving care she was given by Brian Douvis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Tacoma. (1523
