Arthur Kujawa's Obituary
Arthur B. Kujawa affectionately known as -Å"Art- passed away on, Wednesday August 1st 2012 at St. Joseph's hospital. He was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota on December 17th, 1934. He moved to Washington with his parents and siblings, in 1941.
Art entered the US army in 1953 and retired with 20 years of service. While in the military he toured places such as Kentucky, Germany, North Carolina, Korea, Texas, and California. In the line of duty he trained soldiers for Vietnam and jumped out of airplanes. The most rewarding adventure of all was meeting the love of his life, her three sons and then fathering his only daughter. After his retirement from the military, the family left Germany and moved back to Tacoma. From 1975 to 1995 Art worked for the city of Tacoma Sewer Utilities.
In 1981 his first grandchild was born and over the next 16 years, six more grandchildren joined the family. After his retirement from the city, Art had more time to do all of the things that he loved including; spending time with his family, sailing with friends, strolling through endless rows of Saturday morning swap meet treasures, fishing, yelling at the mariners games, eating lemon meringue pie, repeatedly watching country western shows, listening to Elvis, enjoying the company of his beloved dogs, telling his famous army stories, and taking his chances on the slot machines.
Art is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Clara Kujawa and four siblings. He is survived by 5 siblings, his devoted wife Marianne, his oldest son Bob with wife Mona and their two children Natasha and Jacob, his middle son Mike with wife Anita and two children Mike and Michelle and their granddaughter on-the-way Lyndley, his youngest son Steve with wife Linda, and their children Stephen (wife Randi), Marie, and Emily, and his only daughter Donna and her husband Steve, and his beloved dog Shatzi. He also leaves behind a large extended family and numerous friends.
