Arthur R. Gravseth's Obituary
Arthur Raymond Gravseth, 93, of Tacoma, WA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024, and went home to The Lord, just one week before his 94th birthday.
A dedicated public servant and a loving family man, Arthur leaves behind a legacy of service and kindness. As a proud US Army Korean War Veteran, he honorably served his country. Arthur worked for 30 years at Ft Lewis. He had several different jobs over those years, including working as a skilled small arms repairman with Fire Control Optics as a lead until his retirement.
Arthur was a man of strong character and unwavering faith. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his quick wit and infectious laughter. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Joan, who preceded him in death, along with his parents Carl and Marie, his siblings Mervin, Evelyn Dixon, Lillian Henderson, and Clarence, his son-in-law Edward Fabeck, daughter-in-law Laurie, and great-granddaughter Arianna.
He is survived by his sons Patrick (Leigh), Michael, Timothy, and daughter Jane. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Arthur was a man of many interests. He was proud of his Norwegian heritage and enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He also had a sweet tooth and loved indulging in cookies, fudge, and other treats. Arthur also found great joy in the companionship of his beloved cat, Simon.
