Arthur Horace Boyd's Obituary
Arthur Horace Boyd was born on February 27, 1953, to Evans and Jewel (King) Boyd in Morris County, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Tacoma, Washington, where he was blessed with a large and loving family. In 1972, he found his soul mate and partner for life at the age of 19, Frances Scott. Arthur and Frances were together for 19 years before uniting in holy matrimony on July 27, 1991. Their 44 year relationship was built on love, devotion, mutual respect and trust.
Arthur was dedicated and committed to working at Nalley Fine Foods for 10 years as a Machine Operator, and later moved on to Pierce Transit working as a Laborer for 5 years before going on disability due to his illness. Despite the battles that he faced with his health, he was strong willed and continued to remain faithful in his word with God.
Throughout his life, he was a beloved husband to Frances, he had 7 amazing children Anissa, Arthur Malone Jr., Lamont, Diamond, Da’Ron, Isaiah, and Joseph and was a loving grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Growing up as a young teen father Arthur regretted not being present during memorable milestones during his children’s earlier years. Arthur’s hope was that his children would look at his past and offer a gentle judgment. He loved his children and they meant the world to him!
Arthur’s extraordinary patience, kindness and positivity enabled him to forge deep long lasting relationships with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his love for his Cadillac’s, his fashionable style of dress, and being one of the kindest and coolest people you could ever meet.
Arthur had many interests in his life. He was an active member of N.A. traveling around the country sharing his experience, strength and providing hope and recovery to those looking for a better way of life. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family especially on Sundays at his parents’ house eating his mother’s delicious meals. He lived for the families’ annual trips to the ocean, watching western and Christian movies, cheering on his favorite sports teams, swimming at the Y, singing Gospel & RB songs, dancing the night away with Frances, and going to Baskin - Robbins to devour his favorite ice cream baseball nut.
His spirit was carried away to be with the Lord on February 28, 2016, at the age of 63, surrounded by his loving wife and family. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his long battle with his illness which ultimately gave him peace. Arthur will be missed deeply by all.
