Arthur C. Bivens SR.'s Obituary
Arthur C. Bivens, Sr. was born to Nathaniel and Hattie Bivens on October 15, 1932 in Jackson Tennessee. Both parents provided a fruitful and nurturing childhood to him. He was the youngest of three siblings and the only male. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Katherine Bingham, and one son Willie W. Bivens.
He attended Jackson Madison County Schools until such time that he relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan. While residing in Michigan, he worked many years in an automotive foundry. Later, he moved to Tacoma, Washington to be near his children.
Those left with memories and love for Arthur are his children: Arthur C. Bivens, Jr. (Shirley) of Olympia, WA; Cleo Bivens-Farr of Lakewood, WA; Kenneth B. Bivens of Portland, OR., a sister, Classie Thames (Luther) of Grand Rapid, MI; 4 grandchildren Michael Williams of Tacoma, WA, Kesha Renee Wright (Vernell) of Wilmington, DE, LaShawnda Victoria Farr of Atlanta, GA, Tiffany LaTonya Farr of Lakewood, WA and his one and only great-granddaughter Leia Michelle Wright of Wilmington, DE. He also leaves behind a host of loving relatives from Jackson, TN - The Utley's and the Womack's as well as nieces and nephews originally from the Indiana and Michigan area.
