I am currently visiting Budapest. I was just today telling my wife about an amazing Associate Professor I studdied under at Occidental Collegei LosAngeles in 1973 to 1975. He was a professor of Political Science. He was one of my best proffesors and I respect him very much. My heartfelt condolences. There is not a mention of his time at Occidenta College.
I am deeply saddened to learn of my dear friend Arpi's death. We met on two or three occasions when we were younger (once I met him him in Budapest and we traveled to Esztergom together to meet his wonderful mother), but distance meant that we usually had to keep in touch by mail or phone or email. Suddenly, today, the thought came over me that it had been an unusually long time since last I had word from him. He was a colleague in intellectual (especially Hungarian) history, but he was far more than that to me. He was one of the finest, kindest persons I have ever been blessed to know. I am truly heart-broken to learn of his passing and I send my deepest sympathies to his family members. I will never forget him.

Dear Andrea Pratt; I recently came across your Dad's name by Googling Kesztolc.
I spent a few months there my self in 1944 as a young kid. I recently read your Dad's essays in the Hungarian Review online. I am most impressed the arc of his life from a barefoot little boy from a small village to the erudite professor here in America.

When you were young kids, you lived across the street from us on Crestwood Drive in Santa Barbara. Your dad was studying for his phD at UCSB and what a fitting "major" his political philosophy was, because he was a great philosopher, as shown through his many writings over the years. "Art and War," his memoir, is an awesome piece of work.
I know you share with us the comfort of knowing that your parents' separation at your mother's death was of only six months' duration until your dad joined her. How lucky they were to be reunited so soon!
We very much admire the fact that your dad chose to return to Hungary to lecture after your mother's death. What a great thing to do! I know that the students and faculty who heard these lectures benefited from being exposed to the thoughts and wisdom of a great man!
We are truly saddened that your father is no longer on this earth, but this is tempered by knowing that his painful separation from his beloved wife is over!
We know you, the family, will carry on in wonderful lives of your own, with the example of two great parents ever before you.
