Arnold Franklin Walker's Obituary
Arnold Franklin Walker, born December 15, 1946 to Arnold F Walker Sr and Raquel Vermay-Walker in Havana, Cuba. He passed peacefully at home on May 6, 2009. He was survived by his loving wife Whasin, his children Allison, Gabriel, Alina and Alexander and his sister Jacqueline.
Arnold spent most of his younger life in Tampa, Florida. He joined the US Army 1966 and served two terms, including a tour in the Vietnam War. Arnold's bravery in the Vietnam War earned him two Silver Star medals and Purple Heart. Due to medical reasons he was honorably discharged in 1983. Before the end of his Army career, he was stationed in Pusan South Korea where he met the love of his life, Whasin Choe December 1974. They were married on January 13, 1976. They lived happily in South Korea before he was stationed at Fort Lewis WA in 1978. After retirement, he raised four children and spent most of his time teaching them his favorite hobbies which included fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities.
He had an enormous amount of talent and excelled at everything he tried. He had a love of music; he was choir director in school and loved singing to his family. He also had a love for books and writing and could tell a story that kept the listener's attention from beginning to end. Although he was very protective of his family but had a tender heart. He was surrounded by the love of his family and will be missed very much.
Services will be held May 12, 2009 at Mountain View 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood WA 98499, Burial at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent WA.
