Early Life and Family
Armando was born on January 7, 1946, in Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jesus M Gutierrez and Maria Cortez. He later made his home in Washington State, where he lived for seven years in Tacoma and two in Federal Way.
Armando was married to Helen Louise Walker, and is survived by his eldest son, Nicholas John Gutierrez, who lovingly cared for him. He was preceded in death by both his wife Helen Louise Walker and his son, Kristopher James Gutierrez.
Career and Passions
Armando dedicated most of his life to the local school district in Odessa, Texas. He began as a bus driver and, through hard work and determination, eventually became a mechanic. After retiring, he moved to Washington State to be closer to his two grown children. Throughout his life, Armando worked tirelessly and sacrificed so his family could thrive. His selflessness was his defining trait—he consistently placed the needs of his loved ones above his own. He believed deeply in the importance of education, encouraging his children to pursue opportunities that would lead to a better life than the one he had known. His legacy is one of devotion, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to family.
