Arline "Becky" Johnson-Hart's Obituary
After a brief battle with cancer, Becky joined the Lord on December 30, 2013. She was born in Minot, ND to Arthur and Oline Beckman and was one of 12 children in her family. When she was a young child her family moved to the Pt. Townsend area and was about 5 years old when her mother passed away. She was raised by an aunt and uncle and older sibling and was blessed with wonderful memories of her childhood and many loving people who cared for her.
Becky graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma. In 1947 she married Alvin Johnson and they built their home in Fircrest, WA where they raised their family and where she lived the rest of her life. She worked as a medical receptionist for a couple of doctors in Tacoma but spent most of her life as a homemaker. In 1983 her husband of 36 years, passed away and in 1989 she married Rodney Hart and enjoyed 9 years with him until his death in 1998.
She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 50 years where she sang in the choir and served on various committees. Just a few months ago she helped with Kid Reach, a tutoring program at the church and Vacation Bible School and was also a member of VASA Swedish Lodge #233. She had a special love for children. For years neighborhood children would come to her house to visit. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren where the light of her life.
