Arlene Shirley Crosby, daughter of Marguerite Hilda Bento and William Oscar Crosby, was born June 13, 1937 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Arlene lived in the Tacoma, WA area most of her adult life. Arlene passed away on January 27, 2015 at St. Clare's Hospital in Lakeview, WA. Arlene was a Past Worthy Matron of Faith Chapter No 255, Order of the Eastern Star and Past Royal Matron of Lincoln Court No. 24, Order of the Amaranth and was currently serving as Grand Truth of Amaranth in Washington State. Her memberships included White Shrine of Jerusalem, and Pythian Sisters. She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Charles W. Craig of Roy, WA, and step-daughter Kimberly Ann Craig (married partner Camille Bennett) of Tieton, WA, brother William Whitfield Crosby II of Oceanside, CA (wife Jacqueline J. Magnuson), brother John Edward Keen Crosby (wife Alwine Harriett Schmidt) of Newport News, VA, brother Ronald Jack Crosby (wife Janet L. Perry) of Chula Vista, CA, brother Edward Stanley Crosby and fiancé Merry Mednitsky of Mt. Laurel NJ, brother Wayne Leslie Crosby (wife Shawnee Pearl Costello), sister Patricia Ann Crosby of San Diego, CA, and dozens of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by former husband Edward Van Horn, son William O. Van Horn, son Elmer Van Horn, and daughter Ericka Diane Van Horn, sister Diane Audrey Ransome of Baton Rouge, LA, brother Thomas Walton Logsdon of HI, sister Nora Hilda Logsdon Dahmer of KY, and sister Irene Grace Logsdon Salley of KY. Thanks to St. Clare staff for their loving care of Arlene. Viewing will be at Mt. View Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. - noon Mon. Feb 9 followed by graveside services at 1:30 pm. Memorial at 3:00pm at Spanaway Methodist Church; 135 163rd ST S, Spanaway. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to: Amaranth Diabetes Foundation at 17417 Woodland DR, Bothell, WA 9801.
