Architon Garnado Escobido went to his eternal home on August 5, 2025, in Lakewood Washington at the age of sixty-four. Archie was a gifted and highly ranked chess player, exceptional dancer, and dedicated disciple of God.
Born in Sipalay, Negros Occidental, Philippines, Archie was the third born of six, and only son, of father Maximiano Mercurio Escobido and mother Filomena Garnado Escobido. He graduated from FEATI University with a degree in Geodetic Engineering, a branch of civil. Notably, he was ranked sixth overall in the nation for his engineering board exams.
Archie’s journey took him from the Philippines to work in Oman, where he fell in love with his beloved wife, Lucila Gabay Dela Cruz Escobido. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who found joy in serving others and leading his family with faith.
In 1992, the next chapter in Archie’s life brought him and his wife to the United States with the promise of greener pastures. First residing in Florida, then Louisiana, and finally in 1998 they set their roots down in Washington State. He worked for Pierce County as a surveyor before Archie and Lucie founded Bethel Homes, an Adult Family Home business that has been serving the community for the past 24 years.
As a result of his dedication and commitment, Archie provided financial support for numerous mission trips to the Philippines, inspired his children to pursue their individual interests, and established a meaningful legacy for future generations.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lucie; their children Raniel, Luchie, Archie, and Max; their grandchildren Peyton, Kamilah, Sage, Nola, Aria, and Eden; his sisters Marilou, Nenita, Nona, and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gem; and nephews, Alden and Nathan. His exemplary work ethic, commitment to his family, and quirky personality will be deeply missed and immortalized by all who knew him.
