Anthony "Tony" Emery's Obituary
Anthony R. Emery, Sr., nicknamed "Tony", passed away on November 7th, 2025. He was born to Salatha Marie Carter- Emery and Theodore Roosevelt Emery on August 23, 1960 in Topeka Kansas. Tony came from a long line of military veterans and was a retired veteran at the time of his death.
Tony joined the Army right after high school. He continued in the Armed Forces and Reserves until his retirement. Tony came from a family of eight siblings--six boys and two girls--of which, four boys, including himself, were military veterans.
He settled in the State of Washington, in the 1980's, where he lived until his untimely death.
He was a loving spouse, father, brother, uncle and friend. A man of strong faith, brave and courageous, yet generous at heart. He was with his life partner and family in Puyallup, Washington for 28 years.
Anthony Emery, Sr. was predeceased by his parents, and six siblings: Gwendolyn Powell, Theodore, Denis, Shannon, Fred, and Burton Emery. He is survived by his life partner, Hunly Moeung; sister, Annie Mae; daughter, Shaunta’ Renee; son, Tony M. Emery, Jr; granddaughters, Arianna Emery, Shyanne Rose, and Savanna Amor; and a blended family of children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Tony's life will be held on December 2nd.
