Annette Margareta Sundquist's Obituary
Annette Margareta Sundquist was born in Sweden on July 19, 1920 and went to be with Jesus on November 7, 2013. She married husband Elner on May 6, 1944 who preceded her in death in 1989. She leaves behind daughter Annika, son Tom, daughter Nancy Lennox (Mark) and grandsons Joshua (Jenny) and daughter Layla, Isaiah (Megan) and sons Dillan and Blake, Jonathan and son Macc, and Jordan.
In 1948 Annette and daughter Annika immigrated to the USA to be with her husband who had come the year prior. Leaving her family in Sweden, learning a new language, raising a young daughter with special needs and trying to fit in to a new culture was difficult, but she always loved a challenge.
In 1956 Annette met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her life was forever changed. She loved to study the Bible and praying was a joyful discipline. As she prayed her faith increased as she saw the hand of God move in her life and that of her family and friends.
“Woman” was what we affectionately called our super mom. She thrived on hard physical labor and gardening was a favorite past time. She had one speed….and it was fast! Serving, talking, working and driving!
Mom never gave up on projects or people. When those in her path felt they couldn’t go on or didn’t want too, mom took that as a challenge to help them forge ahead whether they liked it or not! She was an optimist and laughed a lot and would quote: “a cheerful heart is good medicine.”
Her faith was based on Jesus Christ, Her blessings came from serving Him, and her greatest desire was that all would know Him as Lord and Savior. A Bible verse she loved to share with others was “I, (Jesus) am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me.” John 14:6.
Our loss is great but we look forward to the day that we will once again meet in the presence of Jesus!
Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm, Wednesday, November 13 and 8am to 12noon, Thursday, November 14 at Mountain View Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Thursday, November 14 at Mountain View Funeral Home’s Celebration of Life Center Aspen Chapel followed by a reception.
